The Hole in the Rock at Papago Park Arizona is a Phoenix favorite!  This site is a natural geological formation in Papago Park, a municipal park of Phoenix.  Many locals enjoy this hike as well as visitors to the Phoenix area.    There are great views from the top!  Great photo opportunities!

The Hole in the Rock is one of the best-known features in Papago Park   The prehistoric Hohokam Indians were the first “Phoenicians”, settling here thousands of years ago.  Additionally, today this is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike!

This is a quick and easy hike taking about 10 minutes. Your time may vary as hikers often pause to take pictures of the great views!

The Hole in the Rock, Az in Papago park is known for amazing rock formations. Hole in the Rock Papago Park Arizona is a great place to take a short hike to enjoy running trails.  The hole in the Rock is located next to the Phoenix Zoo, another Phoenix favorite!  It is located at 625 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, AZ 85008.

The trail to the top of the Hole in the Rock is pretty easy, as there are only about 200 feet of elevation and .2 miles long.  Perfect for the older and younger hikers in your family!  The trail is a bit rocky but generally a pretty easy trail if you are paying attention!

At the top of the trail, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view of the rest of the park and the city of Phoenix.  This is one of the highest points for the area.

 

Where to park?  There is parking located at the bottom of the trail.  You can also park in the Phoenix Zoo parking lot if needed.

This trail is pet-friendly, so if the weather is cool enough, bring your dog!  Be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your dog!  NOTE : Dogs are not allowed on trails when the temperature is over 100 degrees.

At the top, you will also find a picnic area, so bring food and enjoy the view!
