Events Calendar for the Phoenix Zoo
Monkey Village
Hours: (weather permitting)Walk into an open exhibit where squirrel monkeys run through bushes and trees just inches away. This is the only walk-through squirrel monkey exhibit in the United States! Don’t miss this on your next visit!.
June 1 – August 31: 8 a.m. – noon
September 1 – October 31: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
November 1 – January 13: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
January 14 – May 31: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Discovery Tours
Price: $49 per person

A Discovery Tour is a 90-minute guided tour through the Zoo in one of their eco-shuttles. You’ll be able to hop on and off the cart for closer viewing. There will also be photo opportunities throughout the tour. The Discovery Tour will only visit the guest viewing areas of exhibits. This tour will not take you behind the scenes. However, you will get a guided tour so make sure you get a great overview of the top attractions!.
*Each tour has a maximum capacity of 12 guests. Children 2 and under are free. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paid person 16 years of age or older. Zoo admission not included in the tour price.
Backstage Adventures
Price: $99 per person

Stingray Bay Adventure
Go backstage and learn what it takes to care for the Zoo’s cownose stingrays. Your adventure includes a tour of the behind-the-scenes area and an in the water experience with the rays!

Elephant Adventure
Go backstage and learn what it takes to care for the Zoo’s Asian elephants. Your adventure includes a tour of the elephant barn and an up-close viewing opportunity.

Reptile Adventure
What’s a tortoise’s favorite treat? Find out in this ultimate reptile adventure.
Your adventure includes a visit to the Galapagos or Aldabra tortoise enclosure where you’ll have a chance to meet and touch some of these friendly giants!

Premium Adventures
Price: $300 per person
Looking for the ultimate Zoo experience? A Premium Adventure is a fully custom experience for you and your party. Your adventure includes a 90-minute personalized tour of the Zoo and one Backstage Adventure. Each guest will also take home a souvenir photo and a water bottle. Premium Adventures can be booked on your schedule (some restrictions may apply) and can be booked for groups of 1 – 10.
*Each tour has a maximum capacity of 10 guests. All Premium Tours must be scheduled at least one week in advance.
Guided Tours
Guided tours are predetermined guide-led walking tours through one of the Zoo trails. You have the flexibility to choose from several different topics, each covering a wide span of animal and conservation sciences. Each guided tour is 45 – 60 minutes in length (depending on the chosen topic).
Subject to availability. Does not include behind the scenes viewing areas.
- $2 per person
- Minimum 10 guests. Groups larger than 25 may be divided into multiple groups.
- No age restrictions
- Zoo admission not included in the tour price. However, youth-oriented groups receive an educational rate of $5 per person. Discounted rates for groups of 25 or more are available.
- Available on a daily basis; excludes holidays and special event days
- Must be scheduled two weeks in advance
